We are seeking a Bid Manager to join our Scotland and Northern Region work winning team.

Reporting to the Regional Pre-Construction Manager, you will be responsible for the development and management of bids technically and commercially, in line with the company’s vision and values.

You will be responsible for the submissions and have an excellent appreciation of the customer’s needs, ensuring that all questions have been answered in full, providing a cost effective solution with the best possible chance of success.

Key duties will include:

• Owning and managing the day-to-day functions of the bid process, agreeing strategy with the operational teams, and ensuring adequate resources are available to complete the submissions
• Planning and managing all aspects of bid management, including creation of high quality PQQs and bid documents, including writing and editing content
• Producing and managing a detailed costed bid plan, gaining all relevant authorisations and ensuring they are maintained and accurately reflect the target dates and budgets
• Producing Project Execution Plans
• Recognising contractual, financial, technical and operational risk, and finding opportunities to minimise risk and maximise gross profit
• Managing a bid team comprising of estimating, planning, design management, commercial and admin support
• Guiding the bid team writers in preparing the technical and cost components of the proposal
• Managing bid document production and ensuring compliance with bid management processes
• Establishing winning strategies and writing plans for quality-led bids and participating in read reviews of prequalification documents and tenders
• Understanding and interacting with the overall customer business, to allow projection of benefits to customers through our proposals
• Recording, analysing and managing issues, risks, changes and dependencies during the bid
• Obtaining customer feedback and participating in the CRM process
• Ensuring that all solutions meet with requirements of the customer within affordability constraints

Applicants will hold an appropriate degree in civil or structural engineering, construction management or a related field. They will have knowledge of various forms of contract, be experienced in planning as part of the tender process and have knowledge of construction processes. Experience across a variety of sectors is preferred.
