We are seeking a Commercial Manager to join our team who are soon to commence work on a multimillion pound residential project in Leeds.

As a key member of the project team reporting to the Regional Commercial Manager you will lead and manage the project's commercial function to minimise risk, maximise opportunity and manage change, cash flow and accurate project reporting.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Accurate and timely reporting on your projects
• Providing supervision and support to direct reports and others in the project team
• Ensuring all subcontracts are placed in accordance with company procedures
• Ensuring the main contract and subcontracts are administered correctly
• Implementing and monitoring Sir Robert McAlpine commercial systems and procedures
• Intervention as appropriate in respect of variances or potential performance variances in order to ensure business objectives, budgets and strategies are delivered

Applicants will demonstrate the following:

• Experience as a recognised Commercial Manager with a strong commercial awareness and a focus on profit and cash
• Broad construction industry experience in commercial management positions with industry leading contracting organisations
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills and an ability to quickly build effective relationships internally and externally
• Organisational skills with clear thinking on commercial priorities and the ability to deal with a significant volume of many varied project issues in a timely and effective manner
• The ability to assimilate a breadth of internal and external data and then apply sound commercial judgement regarding the project
• Experience in developing and monitoring efficient and effective processes in relation to the commercial management of projects
• Construction technology expertise

Candidates will have a strong construction background and a successful track record of working on large projects. They will ideally be educated to degree level in a construction related discipline and be a member of either the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or the Chartered Institute of Building.
