We have a fantastic opportunity for a Document Controller to join our team working on Phase 3 of the Battersea Power Station redevelopment.

As a member of the project team reporting to the Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining and distributing all project related documents for both Phase 3a and 3b of the project.

This will involve the downloading of design drawings/specifications from external design consultants for checking and approval to ensure that the documents contain correct and comprehensible information prior to onward distribution.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Checking and collating all incoming mail received within the project inbox
• Allocating and controlling document numbering systems for project work
• Collecting, maintaining and distributing all necessary documents that ensure conformance to the project requirements
• Data checks, promoting documents to next node within workflow on the EDMS
• Ensuring that company documents are uploaded to Conject and categorised correctly
• Providing the design team with in-date current marked-up drawings for review
• Alerting team members to critical deadlines for document issue in accordance with the design programme
• Taking ownership of management of workflows in the EDMS, ensuring that the correct processes are in place
• Reporting regularly on the status of drawings, RFIs and TQs
• Liaising between client, consultants, trade contractors, technical staff and project staff on document control/design matters
• Uploading to and monitoring company web-based project portal
• Supporting, advising, guiding and training on the correct use of the system and notifying of any relevant changes and updates to the use of the system, set up and processes
• Devising, co-ordinating and leading training sessions and producing training material

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• A degree relevant to design/construction
• At least one year’s experience working with Conject and Aconex, and ideally Asite
• Advance user in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
• Bluebeam competency
• Understanding of construction management and appreciation of change management
• BIM awareness - ideally able to use Navisworks and support coordination workflows
• At least two years’ experience in construction or a construction related discipline
• Excellent communication skills
• Understanding of the bigger picture, outside of document control
• Attention to detail and very high Quality Assurance standards
• Competency in database administration
• Technical writing skills
• Comfortable with basic troubleshooting of technology, printers, plotters issues
• Willingness to work flexibility and undertake other tasks as required to contribute to the project
