Reporting to the Director of People and Infrastructure, this role will provide dynamic strategic and operational leadership in line with the Sir Robert McAlpine values and culture within the Resourcing and Talent Acquisition function.

Responsibilities will include:

• Being the strategic resourcing expert in all aspects of Talent Acquisition and Resourcing for internal clients across a variety of building, construction and operational roles
• Demonstrating extensive stakeholder management and relationship building skills - externally with suppliers at all levels including MSP, agencies and other PSL partners; internally with hiring managers at all levels of the company, colleagues and peers
• Taking a strategic approach to equality, diversity and inclusivity, be willing to go above and beyond steps to create a workforce reflective of the UK’s diversity
• Ensuring the implementation of financial and cost controls which result in effective, timely and accurate monitoring of the function’s performance
• Developing, securing approval for and delivering a strategic and operational plan for the function in line with company objectives
• Ensuring the function has the necessary resource infrastructure to support the existing and future business plans and the management capability to achieve its objectives
• Providing specialist expert advice in the function’s areas of professional expertise
• Identifying opportunities to promote the company’s strategic growth objectives
• Contributing to multi-disciplinary project teams and/or strategic initiatives e.g. bids/tenders
• Ensuring that the function’s capability is continually enhanced, promoting a culture of continuous improvement
• Pro-actively managing business risk and ensuring that appropriate and timely action is taken, including escalation when required
• Creating and developing resourcing processes and procedures where required

Applicants will ideally have the following skills, knowledge and experience:

• Experience of leading a Talent Acquisition team
• Experience of selection techniques, including psychometric tools
• Considerable knowledge of conventional and digital candidate attraction methods
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Proven change management skills
• Excellent business contacts within the construction industry
• Strong experience of specifying and implementing Attraction Tracking Systems
• Understanding of all relevant compliance requirements/issues

The ideal candidate will be degree qualified in a relevant profession or have the equivalent ‘on the job’ experience, and be a Member or Fellow of a relevant professional body e.g. REC; IRP; BIoR; APRC.
