Description

Reporting to the Head of HR Operations/Business Partnering and L&D the successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring Learning and Development contributes to business performance and proactively identifies and responds to potential skill and development gaps.

Responsibilities will include:

• Designing and delivering L&D programmes for the company
• Being the first point of contact for all issues relating to L&D
• Upholding and controlling the online e-learning for the business
• Providing expertise and support in the creation of L&D programmes and interventions that support Sir Robert McAlpine’s strategic operational goals
• Reviewing and updating L&D processes and procedures
• Providing specialist input and expertise around L&D activities to operational management to deliver the best outcomes for the company
• Working with departments on activities/projects where L&D input is required
• Demonstrating stakeholder management and relationship building skills externally and internally
• Promoting and sharing best practice/knowledge throughout the business
• Designing and developing manager tools and aids in the L&D arena to improve line management engagement with employees
• Coach managers on best practice L&D approach and methods
• Reporting on L&D activity to internal clients

Applicants will ideally have the following skills, knowledge and experience:

• Experience within a L&D role, ideally from a construction industry background
• Experience of TNAs, planning structures of programmes, and designing, delivering and facilitating sessions
• Good business contacts within the L&D industry
• The ability to successfully influence others and gain credibility with all levels of employees
• A positive and enthusiastic attitude and mindset
• Experience of design and delivery of L&D for employees
• Understanding of all relevant compliance requirements/issues
• Fully developed and detailed knowledge of L&D
• An engaging training style

The ideal candidate will be degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant subject area with a L&D accreditation e.g. CIPD or equivalent.
