We helped our client unlock the commercial potential of this prime Mayfair location.
Featuring a traditional brick and Portland stone façade, 33 Davies Street stands in a prime location in the heart of the Mayfair Conservation Area. The building consists of basement and ground floor retail space and five storeys of Grade A office accommodation finished to high quality and sustainability standards.
With the building in a conservation area, we worked extensively with our precast façade contractor to achieve the monolithic appearance required by the local planning department.
The precast panels and each of the 100,000 bricks used were manufactured in a quality controlled environment with regular inspections conducted to ensure standards were maintained.
Deconstruction rather than demolition of the previous building reduced noise and dust. The use of acoustic sheeting and blankets helped minimise disturbance to neighbours.
The project achieved a 95% recycling rate and a third of the aggregate used was secondary materials.
All the timber used was FSC certified and 80% of materials were sourced from suppliers with a recognised third party certification scheme.
The company has worked with Grosvenor on a wealth of projects over more than 30 years. We are currently involved in the delivery of a number of projects across the property group’s Mayfair and Belgravia estate.
The panellised approach to the facade greatly minimised disruption to our neighbours which included the world famous Claridges Hotel, the Italian and Canadian Embassies and the Argentine Consulate as well as a number of residential properties.
33 Davies Street was named Best Commercial Building at the Brick Development Association’s Brick Awards 2014, the judges praising its “immaculately executed detail”.
