We are working to minimise the impact on trading during the remodelling of this town landmark.
The phased remodelling of Fenwick’s Williams & Griffin store in Colchester will increase its retail space by 50 per cent. Following enabling works, the majority of the store’s east building will be demolished and rebuilt and the adjoining west building refurbished.
The store’s Tudor and Victorian buildings will be preserved and restored while alterations include the formation of an atrium and a stone and glass shopfront.
A temporary trading space designed under a cost-saving solution suggested by our team will replace the east building floorspace during the demolition and construction period.
The rerouting of services to a new rooftop plant room was undertaken at night to avoid disruption to trading. The packaged plant room solution suggested by our team has delivered programme efficiencies. Arriving with all the plant pre-assembled, the plug and play approach reduced work on site.
The Colchester project follows the successful live extension and refurbishment of the luxury retailer’s Bond Street store.
