The conversion of a 1960s building into a state-of-the-art library was completed in the heart of a bustling campus.
Stirling University’s main library was redeveloped to create a vibrant and up-to-date facility.
The upper three floors of the library were completely remodelled and an extension provided to create a new main entrance.
The building’s roof was removed and replaced and a new lightwell formed in the centre of the library. Modern mobile shelving and bespoke fixed and free-standing furniture add to the transformation.
“The end result is a major transformation of a sixties building into a state-of-the-art library facility in keeping with the University of Stirling’s image. ….All in all a first class performance by Sir Robert McAlpine and I wish you every success with future projects.”
Andrew Duncan, Director of Property Management, University of Stirling
