Works to improve facilities at the hospital, which provides child and adolescent mental health services, began with the extension and refurbishment of the low secure 12-bed Westwood Centre.
This was followed by four more phases of work which included the construction and partial fit-out of a second inpatient wing and office/teaching area, and the refurbishment of a centre for eating disorders.
“I am grateful for the professionalism of the construction team whose management of the project has minimised the impact and disruption to the live hospital. Sometimes, you would hardly know that a major development was happening on the site.” David Power, Trust Project Manager, Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust
“The good working relationships created, the proactive nature of problem solving and the respect [shown] to the hospital staff and members of the public has given us great confidence in the ability of the contractor to complete the project successfully.” Diane McPartland, West Lane Ward Manager
